KISHTWAR, Dec 21:  Pahari Development Forum, Paddar has strongly projected  the burning demands of the people from this remote area of Kishtwar district.
Chairman of the Forum, Kartar Singh Rathore  told the Excelsior that entire area including Atholi and Gulabgarh have been facing acute shortage of power supply. He said during these harsh winter days, the people have been deprived of  adequate power supply.  He said if any fault develops on this power line from Kishtwar to Paddar,  it takes days and weeks to the PDD staff to rectify the same and ensure supply. He demanded that a grid station be set up at this Atholi-Gulabagh Sub Division.
Rathore said that in the absence of filtration plant, very poor and unhygienic  quality of water is being supplied to the area by PHE. He said recently, they had taken up this issue with the Chief Minister during public Darbar at Kishtwar and she has assured sanctioning of new water supply scheme for the area besides construction of bridge over a nallah connecting Atholi directly with Gulabgarh. It will reduce about 6 kms distance between the two localities.  Rathore said CM has also directed to the concerned authorities to complete this mini-bridge before next Machhail Mata Yatra in August 2018.
The Forum also demanded upgradation of local Govt Girls High School to Higher Secondary level. He  demanded early completion of  Gulabgarh- Machail Road which has been undertaken under PMGSY at snails pace by the State R&B authorities. He said in last three years, just 7 kms kucha road has been constructed. The total distance is about 35 kms from Gulabgarh.
