JAMMU, Nov 5: A delegation of Employees Mahasabha Martand Anantnag held a meeting with the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (RRC Migrants), Dr Arvind Karwani, here today and discussed various burning issues confronting the PM Package employees, working in the Kashmir Valley.
The primary point of discussion was the timely allotment of residential quarters. The delegation sought clarity on the housing schedule under the PM Package.
The Relief Commissioner offered firm reassurance, promising that the Government accommodation (quarters) would be handed over to eligible Package employees as early as the civil construction work is completed, thereby addressing a major concern regarding accommodation stability.
The delegation also raised the serious issue of a restrictive order by the JK Fund Organisation, which reportedly prevents PM package employees from receiving quasi-permanent status and necessary promotions.
The delegation highlighted how this order impedes career progression.
The Relief Commissioner assured the delegation that he fully understood the service matter and would personally work with the employees and the relevant authorities to ensure that the issue is resolved swiftly and equitably.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to fast-track both the housing allotment and the removal of the service restrictions.
