Over 800 delegates participate in int’l palliative care conference

JAMMU, Feb 2: Over 800 delegates from across the globe participated in the 32nd International Conference of the Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPCON 25), held in Jammu.
Organized by the IAPC J&K Chapter in collaboration with AIIMS Jammu, this was the first such conference in the region which witnessed participation from over 800 delegates and faculty members from across the globe, concluded today.
The event was conducted under the supervision of IAPC National president Dr Sushama Bhatnagar and featured an unprecedented 285 paper presentations by doctors, paramedics, and volunteers, including oral and poster sessions. Recognizing excellence in the field, the IAPC awarded gold medals to the best-performing doctors and paramedics.
IAPCON 25 emphasized key aspects such as evidence-based practice, international collaboration, and capacity building in palliative care. The Conference also underscored the importance of policy reforms and advocacy to strengthen palliative care services in India. With participation from over 50 international experts from 20 countries, the event facilitated knowledge exchange and future collaborations.
The Conference featured 103 scientific sessions, eight plenary lectures, and 14 pre-conference workshops on various aspects of palliative care. Delegates praised the organizing team for their warm hospitality and acknowledged the peaceful environment in Jammu and Kashmir, expressing optimism for future international medical events in the region.
Dr Rohit Lahori, president of the IAPC J&K Chapter and organizing secretary, presented the formal vote of thanks.
