JAMMU, Mar 14: Foundation of NEP 2020 must have been based on Banasthali’s Panchmukhi Shiksha.
This was stated by Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe at 42nd convocation of Banasthali Vidyapith held today.
Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, the Chairman of National Educational Technology Forum (NETF), Government of India, was chief guest of the convocation during which over 4500 students received their graduate, post graduate, doctoral degrees and 111 students received their gold medals.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ina Aditya Shastri, announced the commencement of the Convocation ceremony with the recitation of Mangalacharan and Banasthali Geetika and welcomed Prof. Sahasrabudhe.
Introducing Banasthali Vidyapith, the Vice Chancellor said that Banasthali is a unique institution which is the result of a mourning father’s strong determination.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Sahasrabudhe expressed his admiration for the institution, noting its unique integration of women’s education, strong values, Indian culture and ethos, advanced infrastructure and world class sports facilities.
“No one can deny that it is only one of its kind institutions not in Rajasthan, not in India but perhaps in the whole world,” he maintained.
Various activities that he witnessed during the visit-from the Swagat Gaan and parade to the all-girls band, horse riding, flying and cultural performances-left a lasting impression on him and he demonstrated how Banasthali Vidyapith has kept on nurturing confident and capable future leaders who contribute to the Nation’s progress.
A handout stated that Banasthali has given many first to the Nation like first woman fighter pilot to fly a fighter jet solo, Sqd. Ldr. Avani Chaturvedi, recently the first woman fighter pilot in Indian Navy, Astha Poonia, the list being long and including well-known names in politics, judiciary, public services, education, corporate, sports, fine arts and bureaucracy.
Prof. Siddharth Shastri, president of Banasthali Vidyapith conducted the Deeksha Ceremony for the graduated students and congratulated them.
The programme concluded with the presentation of shawl to the chief guest by Prof. Siddharth Shastri and memento by Prof. Ina Aditya Shastri.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof Anshuman Shastri. The programme ended with recitation of Shanti Path and National Anthem.
