UDHAMPUR, June 4: Two interstate narco- smugglers were arrested by police in Udhampur area and 30 kg and 700 grams of poppy straw was recovered from their possession.
Official sources said that police team from Udhampur led by SHO, Raghuvir Singh during naka at Jakhani, signaled one vehicle bearing registration number PB10CQ-9797 for checking.
During checking of the said vehicle, 30 kg 700 grams of poppy straw was recovered from the possession of the driver of the vehicle namely Lakhwinder Singh, son of Amrik Singh of Kapurthala, Punjab and his associate Jaswinder Singh, son of Mann Singh of Begowal, Kapurthala Punjab. They have been arrested.
A case vide FIR No. 200/2024 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Udhampur and further investigation was initiated.
