Srinagar, Apr 21: Society of Dental Surgeons, J&K (SDSJK) today slammed the insensitive approach of the administrators towards all those oral health specialists working as frontline workers in tackling COVID crisis.
Dr Imtyaz Banday, President SDSJK said that at various health institutes our colleagues in these hours of the difficult situation, after undergoing training as per COVID guidelines have been performing duties in sample collection, screening, quarantine, surveillance teams & backend.
“But unfortunately, the administrators have turned deaf ear to the request of all Dental Surgeons who along with other medical officers are working at the frontline thereby risking their lives and that of their families,” he said.
Dental Surgeons being Oral Health Specialists, the Society said, are playing an important role in tackling COVID crisis but the callous and inefficient behavior shown by the authorities has led the medicos in a state of fix.
SDSJK has impressed upon the higher authorities to intervene in this grave burning issue and resolve it at the earliest or else there is no other way but to opt out till COVID SOPs issued by Government of India regarding accommodation of health care workers are not being implemented in letter & Spirit.
