RAJOURI, Aug 4: One migrant worker washed away while two others were rescued from flooded Rajouri river this evening.
Reports said the a rescue operation was launched after a man got trapped in the river due to a sudden rise in the water level while he was fishing. Upon noticing his situation, two individuals attempted to rescue him. However, the water level started rising rapidly, and all three remained stranded in the middle portion of the river.
Responding swiftly, a joint rescue team comprising the SDRF, led by DySP Jabeen Akhter (Deputy Controller, Civil Defense Rajouri), and the Rajouri Police, led by Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Abid Hussain Shah, reached the spot and began the rescue efforts.
The team successfully rescued two individuals from the swollen river. Unfortunately, the man who was initially stuck was swept away in the strong current and remained untraced.
He was identified as Parmod Kumar, resident of Barkania in UP.
Shamshad, son of Abrar and Akram, son of Mohd Aslam from Ganganagar, UP were rescued.
