Over one lakh vehicles challaned, Rs 1.5 cr fine realized in 4 months

Srinagar, Dec 27: In order to implement and make the traffic rules effective, traffic authorities have affected 1, 43, 704 challans against traffic violators and realized Rs 1, 51, 30, 954 as fine from them with effect from July to October this year.
According to Traffic Unit National Highway Ramban, 24707 challans have been affected by the unit with effect from July 1 to October 23 this year. It is also mentioned that neither any judge nor any bureaucrat has been challenged during the period. With regard to imposing of fine against the defaulters an amount of Rs 31, 66, 050 has been realized as compound money during the period.
As per the DSP Traffic City South Srinagar from July to October 2016, 5952 compound and 23 court challans have been affected.
Deputy Superintendant of Police Traffic City (N) Jammu said that a total number of 74995 challans were affected from July to October this year and total revenue realized from the violators is Rs. 1,12,41,600.
Senior Superintendant of Police (SSP) Traffic Rural Kashmir informed that total number of challans have been affected from July to October is 3960 and fine collected is Rs. 723304 and number of challans as per the information have been affected against judges or bureaucrats.
Deputy Superintendant of Police (T) Samba-Kuthua PIO, Traffic Rural Jammu submits that 4852 challans have been affected from traffic sub-division and 4097 challans from traffic sub-division have been affected in the month of July against the violators totaling number of challans 8949 but no information about realizing of fine have been indicated.
Also, 4243 and 3220 challans have been affected from these sub-divisions in the month of August totaling 7463 challans and no information about realizing of fine has been mentioned. In September, 5334 and 3361 challans have been affected from these sub-divisions totaling 8695 challans.
In October, 5125 and 3835 challans have been affected from these sub-divisions totaling 8960 challans. In all 34067 challans have been affected by the traffic authorities from these sub-divisions with effect from July to October 2016.
