JAMMU, Aug 31: One person was killed while two lady cops of IR 15 Battalion were injured in separate road accidents occurred today under the jurisdiction of police post Nehru Market.
According to a police official, a bike-borne man namely Tilak Raj (53) son of late Santokh Raj, resident of Bathindi, was hit and critically injured by a bus at Ware House, Nehru Market. He said that the injured man was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries at about 2:35 PM.
“The body of the deceased was sent for postmortem while a case under relevant sections was registered in this connection at police station Gandhi Nagar and further investigation initiated,” he added.
Meanwhile, he said that two cops identified as Senior Grade Constable Seema Devi (32) wife of Joginder Kumar, resident of Gurha Singhu (Bawe Talab) and Head Constable Rattno Devi (57) wife of Daljeet Singh, resident of Miran Sahib and presently posted at IR 15th Battalion, Gulshan Ground (Jammu) were injured when a speeding car hit them while they were performing their duties at entrance gate of Gulshan Ground.
“Both the injured cops were shifted to GMCH Jammu for medical treatment while a case was registered in this connection at police station Gandhi Nagar,” the official added.
