JAMMU, Oct 29: One person was killed while three others were injured in two separate road accidents in city outskirts.
According to a police official, a class 12th student namely Gurcharan (18) son of Om Parkash, resident of Narwal was hit and seriously injured by a Tata Mobile near Toyota showroom in Narwal area when he was on a walk at about 6 AM.
The injured boy was immediately taken to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. “After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites”, he added.
Narwal police had registered a case in this connection and seized the vehicle involved in the mishap. The driver of the vehicle had also been arrested.
Meanwhile, a truck bearing registration number JK02AU-0843 hit a car (registration number JK02BD-0906) on Sidhra Bypass near Batra Hospital. In the mishap, three persons travelling in the car got injured. They were identified as Johny son of Joseph, Johny son of Mathews and Manoj son of Mathews, all resident of Kerala.
All the injured persons were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment while a case in this connection was registered at police station Bagh-e-Bahu and investigations started.
