JAMMU, Feb 13: One person was killed in a road mishap late last night in Bari Brahamana area while seven persons were injured today in separate road accidents in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a bike-borne youth identified as Vicky (28-30) son of Mansa Ram, a resident of Sarore, was seriously injured when an unknown vehicle hit his bike at Bassi falling in the limits of police station Bari-Brahamana, late last night. He was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The body of the deceased was today handed over to his legal heirs after conducting post mortem.
Two persons were also injured today, when a speeding mini-bus bearing registration No JK02V-6235 first hit a Figo car (having registration No JK02BA-4544), then a motorcycle (having registration No JK02AV-3787) and scooty (JK02BG-1986) at near Patoli Morh at High Court Road. The injured persons have been identified as Girdhari Lal son of Tara Chand, a resident of Kangar Morh, Kot Bhalwal and Madan Lal, son of Puran Chand, a resident of Indira colony, Janipur.
Two persons were also injured when their respective bikes collided with each other near Satwari airport. The injured have been identified as Sahil Kumar (27) son of Darshan Lal of Talab Tillo and Sandeep Kumar (32) son of Satpal, a resident of Makwal in Flaein Mandal area.
A woman namely Rekha Kotwal (40) wife of Vijay Kotwal of Janipur also suffered injuries when a mini-bus hit the scooty, she was riding on at Amphalla Chowk.
A 45-year old man also received injuries after he was hit by a mini-bus near power station at Karwanda area of city outskirts. The injured has been identified as Ramesh Chander son of Hans Raj of Karwanda (Kot Bhalwal).
At Muthi area of city outskirts, an unknown vehicle hit and injured a man namely Inder Raina (53), son of Deena Nath Raina of Durga Nagar.
All the injured were shifted to GMCH for treatment. In all cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
