JAMMU, Jan 23: A man was killed today in a road mishap in Nagrota area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a man was killed on the spot this evening when a car bearing registration number UP93K-5530, which was on its way from Udhampur to Jammu collided with a GREF tipper near Ballini bridge at Nagrota on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
He said that the body of the deceased identified as Anil Kumar (40) son of Bansil Lal, a resident of Battal Ballian, Udhampur, was shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
A case in this connection was registered at police station Nagrota and efforts were on to nab the accused tipper driver, who managed to flee from the spot. However, the police have seized both the vehicles involved in the accident.
