JAMMU, Mar 17: One person died after his Maruti car was hit by a truck near Kartholi (Bari Brahmana) on Jammu-Pathankote National highway today.
The deceased has been identified as Jitender Singh, son of Balbir Singh of Teli More Bari Brahmana. He had left his house in Maruti car bearing number JK 02 A-1044 to collect the cooking gas.
As per police while reaching on NH at Kartholi, he tried to cross the divider and a speeding truck bearing number JK02-1919 coming from Pathankote hit the car resulting into instant death of Jitender.
The Bari Brahmana police has registered a case under relevant Sections of the law and the body of Jitender was shifted to hospital for postmortem. The driver of the truck managed to escape.
