One killed, four injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Feb 7: A man was killed while four others were injured in three separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, two pedestrians received serious injuries when a bike bearing registration number JK02AQ-6999 hit them near Jagti Colony in Nagrota area of city outskirts. The injured persons identified as Vishwakarma (50), a resident of UP, at present living in Jagti and Rakesh Kumar (22) son of Gian Chand of Katal Batal (Nagrota) were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where Vishwakarma was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
The body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after completing all medico-legal formalities. The condition of other injured was stated to be stable till the last reports came in.
Another mishap occurred at Marble Market, Narwal, where an unknown vehicle hit and injured a pedestrian identified as Hussain (50) son of Jalal din, a resident of Burma, at present living in Narwal area. He was also shifted to GMCH for treatment.
At Khoda Wala on Sohal-Jourian road in Akhnoor tehsil, two motorcycles bearing registration number JK02AE-8867 and JK02BG-0403 collided with each other. In the mishap, riders of both the bikes identified as Ashok Kumar son of Govardhan Lal of Jamotian (Akhnoor) and Surinder Singh son of Tara Chand of Dhera Baba (Reasi) at present living in Khoda Wala, got injured. They were immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital, Akhnoor, from where they were later referred to GMCH Jammu for specialized treatment.
In all three cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
