One killed, four injured in clash over land dispute

MENDHAR, Sept 10: A women was allegedly killed tonight while four others were injured in a clash between two groups over land dispute.
According to the reports, a clash broke out at about 9 pm between two groups which already had an old land dispute. The tension started after a person from one party allegedly cut green fodder from the disputed land in the custody of other party. Soon the situation took an ugly turn and both the parties launched physical attack on each other.
In the attack, Arsha Bi (45) wife of Dil Mohd of Dharana (Mendhar) died mysteriously, as she did not get any physical injury while four persons identified as Nazir Hussain son of Sab Din, Akbar Bi wife of Nazir Hussain, Mohd Ayub son of Fakru and Mohd Arif son of Mohd Ayub, all residents of Dharana (Mendhar) were injured and later shifted to Sub District Hospital, Mendhar.
However, the body of the deceased lady could not be shifted to mortuary room of the hospital due to opposition from one party which alleged that she has been murdered and a case of murder be registered against the accused persons.
When contacted, SDPO Mendhar, Shahid Nahieb said that situation is under control and adequate police force has been deployed in the village to defuse any untoward incident.
