KATHUA, Oct 6: One youth died while another is serious after receiving the electric shock at village Surjan near Dugal in Bani tehsil of Kathua district this morning. Besides two persons consumed some poisonous substances at their residence in Rajbagh and Billawar area of the same district today and they were battling for their lives.
According to police a transformer in the village Surjan caught fire due to short circuit resulting into double phase. Unfortunately two youth in the village one identified as Anchal, 25, son of Omkar and Karam Chand, 39, S/O Jagdish tried to switch off the lights in their respective houses.
While Anchal died of electric shock on the spot Karam Chand was rushed to Bani Hospital and his condition is stated to be serious.
The Bani Police has registered a case of negligence under 304 RPC against the PDD. It may be recalled that two days back a girl and a cow died of electric shock while the girl was grazing the cow in the field near an electric pole.
The reports said Sukh Dev S/o Sham Lal of Hari Chak Raj Bagh consumed some poisonous substance at his residence. He was shifted to GMC&H Jammu for treatment where his condition is stated to be critical. The Raj Bagh Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law.
In another incident a young house wife Bindo, 30 W/o Kuldeep also consumed some poisonous substance at her residence in Billawar today and she too was rushed to GMC in a serious condition for treatment.
Billawar police has registered a case under relevant Sections of the law and started investigation.
