UDHAMPUR, Feb 20: A Scooty driver died while his pillion rider sustained critical injuries when their two-wheeler met with an accident after being hit by an unidentified Truck near Jaganoo Morh, Udhampur.
The deceased has been identified as Deepak Kumar (26), son of Bittu Ram, resident of village Lehri Roun Dhomil, while the injured, identified as Rakhi (27) son of Uttam Chand of Roun Dhomil Udhampur, was admitted to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu.
Reports said that the Scooty was hit by an unidentified truck, which was sped away by its driver after the accident. Locals shifted the victims to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared Deepak Kumar as brought dead.
Meanwhile Udhampur police have registered the case and launched a hunt to identify the truck and nab its driver.
