One killed, 12 injured in road accidents

SRINAGAR, May 15: One person died and 12 others were injured in different road accidents across the Kashmir Valley.
A police spokesperson said that a Mukhtar Ahmed Sheikh, 22, son of Jabber Sheikh of Hariparigam traveling on the rooftop of Tata 407 bearing registration number JK03A/696 was hit with a branch of walnut tree at Sangrama, Awantipora, resulting in his on spot death. The body was handed over to his relatives after completing all legal formalities. A case has been registered in this regard.
An Army vehicle bearing registration number 737644Y of 19 Infantry Div Camp, Kanth Bagh hit a Motorcycle bearing registration number JK05C/9095 at Kanth Bagh, Baramulla, resulting in injuries to motorcyclist Gulzar Ahmed Mir, son of Sonaullah Mir of Moonagam and Raies Ahmed sheikh son of Abdul Jabbar resident of Bomie at present Kanispora. Both the injured were shifted to District Hospital, Baramulla for treatment.
A Maruti Car bearing registration number JK01G/6893 and a Load Carrier bearing registration number JK01G/8004 collided at Bamloora, Ganderbal, resulting in injuries to three persons who were travelling in the Load Carrier. The injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
An unidentified Motorcycle hit and injured a pedestrian Ali Mohammad Bhat, 32, son of Abdul Ahad resident of Ahan at Ahan, Ganderbal. The injured was shifted to JVC Bemina, Srinagar for treatment.
A Maruti Car bearing registration number JK09/8091 hit and injured a pedestrian Ghulam Mohiudin Chopan son of Subhan Chopan of Dever at Dever, Andergund, Kupwara. The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital, Sogam for treatment.
A Bus bearing registration number JK02P/8821 and Sumo bearing registration number JK01L/3768 collided on National Highway at Hokersar Lawaypora, Srinagar, resulting in injuries to three persons including the Sumo driver. All the injured were shifted to SKIMS, Bemina, Srinagar for treatment.
A Matador bearing registration number JK03/5874 hit and injured a pedestrian Mohammad Sadiq Bajad son of Haji Mohammad Maqbool of Sunderbani, Rajouri at Sheerpora, Kulgam.
An unidentified vehicle hit and injured a pedestrian Hafizullah Magray, 40, son of Ghulam Rasool of Magray Mohalla, Achabal, at Achabal, Anantnag. The injured has been shifted to hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.
