RAMBAN, Feb 27: Police here today apprehended a man and recovered poppy straw like substance from him.
According to Police, cops led by PSI Neeraj Singh during checking of vehicles at Seri noticed a truck bearing registration number JK02BB-1855 parked along the roadside.
Driver of the truck was identified as Manzoor Ahmed, son of Abdullah Rather, resident of Seri, Tehsil and District Ramban.
On searching the vehicle, cops found poppy straw-like substance concealed inside the toolbox of the truck, following which the driver was immediately taken into custody and the contraband, along with the vehicle, was seized.
In this connection, an FIR with No. 44/2026 under Sections 8/15 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
