DODA, Oct 24: Police here today apprehended a notorious drug peddler and recovered heroin-like narcotic substance from him.
On the directions of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta, a Naka was established at Ghat Road which was led by SHO Doda, Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Ajay Anand.
During vehicle checking at the Naka, a car of Swift make bearing registration number JK19-3900, coming from Ghat and moving towards Doda city was intercepted.
Driver of the car was identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Hamid Sheikh, resident of Tondwa, Doda and on his personal search a white polythene packet containing heroin-like substance weighing approximately ¾ gram was recovered.
In this connection, a case in FIR No. 237/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Doda and investigation started.
