RAJOURI, Dec 17: Police has arrested a drug peddler with heroin-like substance.
A police team from Rajouri Police Station, led by SHO Inspector Abid Hussain Shah, apprehended a man near Tariq Bridge while on routine patrol after he tried to evade detection.
The accused was identified as Aftar Ahmed, son of Maqbool Hussain, resident of Swari, tehsil Koteranka, district Rajouri. During a personal search, police recovered 4.58 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance from his possession.
A case has been registered under FIR Number 596/2025 at Police Station Rajouri under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act. Investigations are ongoing to trace his connections and identify other individuals involved in drug trafficking.
