SHOPIAN, Oct 24: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Shopian today claimed they have arrested a drug peddler and recovered charas-like substance from his possession.
A police official said during routine naka checking at Narwani Amerbug crossing, one person was seen moving suspiciously and was apprehended.
On searching him, he said, police recovered 1.480 kilograms of charas-like substance.
The accused, identified as Aijaz Ahmad Bhat of Moman Danjipora, Bijbehara, has been accordingly booked in case FIR number 32/2025 under the relevant sections of law registered at Police Station Imamsahib and further investigation has been set into motion, the police official said.
