KISHTWAR, Apr 12: Police here today arrested a drug peddler and recovered 70 gram Charas-like narcotic substance from him.
Sharing details in this regard, SSP Kishtwar, Naresh Singh said that cops from Police Station Kishtwar led by SHO Kishtwar, Inspector Firdous Ahmed and assisted by PSI Punyadeep Singh along with their team during a routine patrolling at Gurian and Lanyal under the supervision of Dy. SP Hqrs Kishtwar apprehended a suspect. Upon his personal search, 70 gram Charas-like substance was recovered and he was arrested on the spot.
The accused disclosed his identity as Babar Hussain Sheikh, son of Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, resident of Gurian.
A case in FIR No. 78/2026 was registered in this regard U/S 8/20 NDPS Act at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started.
