DODA, Dec 20: Police here today arrested a drug peddler and seized high-quality Charas-like contraband from him in Kahara area.
As per details, cops from Police Post Kahara along with District Special Branch (DSB) personnel, during a surprise Naka checking at Tanta Bridge, Kahara, intercepted two brothers-Mohd. Nasir and Abu Hurera, both sons of Yehya Khan and residents of village Loharthaeey, Tehsil Chirala, Doda.
On their checking cops found Charas like substance weighing 440 gram from Mohd. Nasir and 270 gram from Abu Hurera.
Sensing imminent arrest, Abu Hurera fled from the spot and resorted to violent stone pelting on cops causing damage to a civilian vehicle of a DSB official.
Following the operation, an FIR with number 122/2025 Under Sections 8/20 of NDPS Act and 125 of BNS has been registered at Police Station Gandoh against both accused.
One accused was arrested on the spot while a manhunt was launched to nab the absconding accused.
