RAMBAN, Nov 22: Police here today arrested a drug peddler and recovered 28 grams of Heroin (Chitta) from him.
Sources informed that cops at Police Station Batote received credible information regarding movement of an individual involved in narcotic trafficking.
Acting swiftly on the tip-off, cops from Police Station Batote established a Naka and intercepted the suspect, Mohammad Iqbal, son of Irshad Ahmad, resident of Deeda Gool, who was travelling from Jammu/ Udhampur towards Ramban in a private vehicle and during his search, Police recovered 28 gram heroin which he was allegedly intending to distribute within District Ramban.
Iqbal was arrested and a case in FIR number 95 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act was registered against him at Police Station Batote and investigation started.
