JAMMU, Nov 21: Nowabad police today arrested a man with heroin like substance.
According to a police official, a team from police station Nowabad this evening laid a naka at Dogra Chowk and intercepted a pedestrian namely Jahangir Ahmed son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Kund (Kulgam) for his suspicious activities.
On personal checking of the accused, about 7 gram of Chitta (heroin like substance) was recovered from his possession by the police, which arrested him on the spot and seized the drugs. In this connection, a case under NDPS Act was registered at police station Nowabad and investigations started.
