JAMMU, July 18: One individual lost his life while two others sustained injuries in a road accident near Jambu Zoo on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway today.
A vehicle (JK11B-8018) driven by an unknown driver in a rash and negligent manner hit a scooty (JK08P5182) near Jambu Zoo early morning, resulting in death of one person on the spot and injuries to two others, a police official said.
According to him, the deceased has been identified as Atul son of late Keshu of Sarvad Katra while the identity of the injured was not known till the time of filing of this report.
He said the injured are undergoing treatment at Government Medical College Jammu.
While the body of the deceased has been handed over to his family members after conducting the post-mortem examination, police have registered a case FIR number 161/2025 under Sections 281/125(a) and 106 BNS at Police Station Nagrota and started further investigation into the matter.
