One-day awareness camp on New Labour Codes held

SAMBA, Jan 3: The Labour Department Samba organised a one-day awareness and interactive programme on the New Labour Codes today in the Bari Brahmana Association Hall.
The programme was aimed at sensitising Human Resource (HR) professionals from industrial establishments and other stakeholders about the four new Labour Codes introduced by the Government of India.
The focus was on generating awareness regarding the salient features, compliance requirements and additional benefits of the four Labour Codes, which seek to simplify existing labour laws, improve compliance mechanism, enhance ease of doing business and strengthen the social security and welfare framework for workers.
The programme was graced by the Deputy Labour Commissioner Jammu Sukhpal Singh, who attended the event as the Chief Guest.
In his address, he highlighted the significance of the new Labour Codes in promoting transparency, streamlining compliance and balancing the interest of employers and employees.
The event was also attended by President Baribrahmana Industrial Association Lalit Mahajan, who emphasised the importance of awareness and collaboration between industry stakeholders and the Labour Department for smooth implementation of the new labour reforms.
Assistant Labour Commissioner Samba Himani Jerath delivered a detailed presentation and guided the participants on the four new Labour Codes- The Wages Code; The Industrial Relations Code; The Code on Social Security; The Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code.
She elaborated on their practical implications, compliance procedures and the benefits offered to both industries and workers under the new legal framework.
