KATHUA , Feb 22: One person committed suicide while another died after consuming heavy doze of liquor in Kathua district during last 24 hours.
According to police a dead body of a labourer was found hanging with a tree at village Dhabwal near here this morning.
The local residents informed the matter to police and a police party from Police Post Nagri Parole rushed to the spot and took body into its custody. The deceased person has been identified as Somraj, 24 of Chhattisgarh. He was working as a labourer with a brick kiln in the area. The Nagri Parole Police has registered a case under Section 174.
In another incident a youth was found dead at the roof of his house at Ward No 4 Kathua this morning.
Police said the youth who was identified as Pritam S/o Janak Raj had a heavy doze of liquor last night and later went to sleep on a cart over roof top of his house. When other members of his family went to awake him in the morning he did not respond. He was taken to hospital where doctors declared him as brought dead.
Kathua Police has registered a case under Section 174.
