KATHUA; Nov 3: Kathua police today seized 20 litres of illicit liquor and arrested one person at Korepunnu area of PS Rajbagh in this connection.
Police said today an information was received from the reliable source that one person is indulged in illegal trade of selling illicit liquor near Dohlian Korepunnu area of PS Rajbagh. Acting swiftly, police team led by ASI Devinder Singh, in charge Border Police Post (BPP), Korepunnu under the supervision of SDPO Border,
Dheeraj Katoch and Inspector, Tariq Ahmed, SHO PS Rajbagh during special checking near Korepunnu apprehended one person who was doing
the trade of selling illicit liquor to people in order to gain illegitimate profit. On physical checking approximately 74 pouches of illicit liquor
making approximately 20 litres was recovered from the scooter of Roshan Lal, son of Dhian Chand of Chak Drab Khan tehsil and district Kathua bearing Registration Number JK08-8035. Thereafter
all the recovered consignment of illicit liquor was
seized and the person in illegal sale of liquor was arrested. A case vide FIR No. 291/2023 U/S 48(A) Excise Act has been registered at PS Rajbagh and further investigation into the matter has been set into motion.
