‘Once Upon a Time’ to explore an LGBT relationship

LOS ANGELES, Sept 20:  Fairy tale drama series “Once Upon a Time” is looking for a possibility to explore an LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) relationship on the upcoming season five of the show.
When executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis were asked if the show will delve deeper into Mulan’s (Jamie Chung) feelings for Princess Aurora (Sarah Bolger) upon her return, the showrunners said they wanted to tell a story that reflects the current world, reported Entertainment Weekly.
“We know that community have been big supporters of the show and we would love to be able to tell a love story that reflects that… It is something that we’re going to do this year,” Kitsis said.
While the producers did not mention whether the exploration will be about Mulan and Aurora’s relationship, Horowitz said it was “important” to explore an LBGT relationship.
“We want the show to reflect the world as it is now. Whether that’s going to be with any particular character, we’re not going to say… It’s something we think is due and important to do on the show. This is the world we live in,” Horowitz said.
Mulan, a warrior who assists best friend Prince Phillip during his search to rescue his love Princess Aurora, is slated to appear in multiple episodes that span both the first and second halves of the season. (PTI)
