On 32nd Foundation Day, Samooh Theatre stages Dogri play ‘Baba Jittmal’

JAMMU, June 27: Samooh Theatre here today celebrated its 32nd Foundation Day with the staging of Dogri play ‘Baba Jittmal’, written by Dr. Gian Singh and directed by Ravinder Sharma.
The occasion also marked the birthday celebration of Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, Samooh Theatre founder and veteran in performing arts.
Play ‘Baba Jittmal’ highlights the tale of a forgotten local saint and farmer, deeply rooted in the soil of Duggar, showcasing the values of compassion, simplicity and spiritual strength.
Artists who performed in the play were Rohan Sharma, Ravinder Sharma, Ajay Tamang, Rohit Bains, Jatin Mehra, Nitesh Kumar, Param Sagar, Kandrav Sharma, Manik Sharma, Sandeep Manhas, Keshav Singh, Mukal Bains, Vrinda Sharma, Drishty, Jahnavi Sharma and Pooravi Sharma.
Lights in the play were operated by Aditya Bharti and Avinash Laknotra, music was composed by Surinder Manhas and it was handled by Diksha Pandita, choreography was done by Rohit Bains, makeup by Shammi Damir and costumes were designed by Anita Chandpuri.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Sudhir Mahajan.
Padamshree S.P Verma graced the occasion as chief guest while Dr. Parnesh Mahajan, Chairman N.S.M College presided over.
Sanjeev Sharma was the guest of honour and theatre artists of State including Rajinder Narang, Bodh Raj, Aditya Bharti, Soham Kashyap, Kamal Chandpuri along with people from the civil society were also present on this occasion.
