Srinagar, Oct 4: Stating that uninterrupted supply is being ensured across the Valley despite “logistical challenges”, the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) today said there is no shortage of LPG in J&K.
In a joint statement, OMCs said adequate LPG cylinders are being dispatched regularly from all bottling plants as per demand.
“All OMC bottling plants in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions are operating smoothly on an industry basis to meet consumer requirements,” the statement said.
“Despite certain logistical challenges, adequate measures have been taken to ensure uninterrupted LPG supplies across the Valley and adjoining regions.”
It added that there is a “healthy supply scenario” across the Union Territory.
“As on October 4, 2025, average stock coverage at distributorships stands at around three days, while bulk LPG stock at plants covers approximately eight days of demand. Importantly, no LPG distributorship is facing a dry-out situation in either region,” it said.
During September’s road closures, OMCs said rescue supplies were arranged from Jammu and Samba plants, ensuring continuity through alternate routes such as Mughal Road.
Industry data, as per OMCs, shows the opening stock at bottling plants stands at 4,089 MT, with an average daily requirement of 723 MT and in-transit stock of 1,982 MT.
“This translates to an average stock coverage of three days at distributorships and eight days at plants, indicating comfortable availability.”
District-wise data, it added, confirms that all areas have adequate supply, with continuous monitoring underway to meet seasonal demand during the upcoming winter months.
Consumers have been assured of timely and uninterrupted refill delivery as OMCs coordinate with transporters and distributors to ensure smooth operations across J&K.
