JAMMU, Sept 26: Senior BJP leader Bali Bhagat on Friday criticized Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah over his remarks regarding the arrest of climate activist, Sonam Wangchuk and the ongoing unrest in Leh, Ladakh.
Hitting out strongly on Omar Abdullah, Bhagat urged the NC leader to focus on his responsibilities instead of commenting on matters concerning Ladakh, asserting that “the Centre is fully capable of handling the situation.”
Bhagat also directly addressed Omar Abdullah, warning him not to provoke the people of Ladakh.
“Remember, Ladakh is not Kashmir. The Ladakhi people are aware of the havoc you have caused in Kashmir over the last 35 years. You have turned paradise into hell. It is not the place to interfere with peace-loving citizens,” he said.
Bali Bhagat asked Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to focus on the responsibilities entrusted to him by the people of J&K.
He asked Omar Abdullah not to support politicians who want to disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir or Ladakh. “Do the works the people have entrusted to you and fulfil the promises you made during the elections”.
Bhagat extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the four young men who lost their lives during recent protests in Leh.
However, he cautioned citizens against associating with what he described as “anarchist conspirators” who aim to destabilize the region.
“Anarchy is unacceptable in any part of the country, even in Leh. The people of Ladakh have always been peace-loving and have contributed immensely to the nation’s unity and integrity. These anti-national elements are bent on spreading chaos,” Bhagat said.
“Those indulging in violence will be dealt with firmly. Law and order will prevail, and peace must be maintained at all costs,” he added.
Bali Bhagat’s firm stance underscores the BJP’s position on maintaining law and order in Ladakh, asserting that attempts to spread unrest will not be tolerated.
By condemning anarchic elements and advising political leaders to refrain from inflammatory remarks, Bhagat called for restraint and stressed that peace and stability in Ladakh must be preserved, reflecting the sentiments of the local population.
