Beerwah, June 24: National Conference Working President and MLA Beerwah, Omar Abdullah today reviewed the functioning of the education sector in Beerwah in a meeting with CEO Budgam, ZEO Khag, ZEO Magam and ZEO Narbal.
The local MLA reviewed the functioning of all Government schools in Beerwah and sough details of infrastructural and staffing issues at particular schools.
The NC Working President released Rs 4 lakh from his CDF for the restoration of Girls School Beerwah and also sought the immediate restoration of flood-hit Government schools in the constituency.
He asked the administration and Education Department officers to ensure the early completion of construction of schools in the constituency under the SSA scheme and asked them to monitor the work and seek timely status-reviews. The local MLA and NC Working President also sought that all Girl Schools be equipped with functional and hygienic toilets on a priority.
The NC Working President also assured visiting public delegations that he would raise the issues of education sector in the constituency in the upcoming District Development Board meeting and would strive to seek early redressal of all grievances.
Highlighting the importance of a quality public education sector for the State’s economic development and prosperity, the NC Working President said his goal is to ensure that all Government Schools in Beerwah have adequate infrastructure, facilities and teaching staff so that the area benefits from a continued growth in literacy and professional education. Asking visiting youth delegations to be a part of policy making processes and decisions, the NC Working President asked them to come up with suggestions to improve the education sector in Beerwah and said he would ensure a follow-up of all such suggestions and grievances.
