JAMMU, Apr 10: Calling the NC Government led by Omar Abdullah a total failure, Leader of Opposition (LoP) and former Minister, Sunil Sharma said that the Omar Abdullah led Government deliberately wasted the last three days of the Assembly session.
Sharma, who is also general secretary, J&K BJP, while addressing a press conference along with Sham Lal Sharma, former Minister and vice-president, of party and MLA, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, general secretary, BJP and MLA, and Thakur Darshan Singh, MLA BJP spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan and media in charge, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra accused the NC of continuously disrupting the House during the Budget Session.
He said it is unfortunate that the ruling party MLAs disrupted the proceedings during last three days and did not allow the House to function.
Sunil Sharma, stressed on the BJP’s commitment to serve the masses adding that the 28 elected MLAs of BJP are committed to raise public issues in the Assembly.
NC had made many fake promises to the public in its Assembly election manifesto raising a lot of expectations among them like free 200 electricity units, free LPG cylinder every month, and 10 kg free grains to every household, one lakh jobs in one year, hike in pension, daily wagers and unemployment issues.
The first Budget Session of J&K had nearly 25 days of work. The people were expecting that at least 50% of the promises will get fulfilled by the six months of Government and two Assembly sessions.
“NC Government has been exposed for its lies, especially when they announced free ration for the people under Antyodaya Anna Yojana and 200 free units of power for people linked with PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana,” said LoP. He questioned that when this scheme stands only for two years how can they link it for five years.
For the very first time, the Government itself didn’t let the Assembly work for the consecutive three days, he added.
He said BJP does not support the restoration of State under the conditions that pro Azadi or inflammatory slogans will be shouted in side the Assembly. He said BJP is not for the NC’s Statehood which promotes separatism and extremism.
He said the slogans which were raised in Assembly by NC members remind one the days when minority Pandits were forced to leave Kashmir as the same type of slogans echoed everywhere in Kashmir frightening the miniscule minorities.
Sharma said BJP will stand against the radicalisation promoted by NC and it strongly opposes NC leadership demanding holding of talks with Pakistan which is mother of terrorism.
Sharma said they reject that type of State where Hurriyat and separatists like Masrat Aalam rule the roost. BJP is for peaceful J&K and we totally reject the radicalisation and the people who promote radicalism, he added.
