Srinagar, Sept 29: The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference general secretary and MLA Khanyar Ali Muhammad Sagar emphasised that the democratically elected Government led by Omar Abdullah successfully restored the momentum of development across Jammu & Kashmir after years of stagnation under unelected and bureaucratic regimes.
In a press statement here today Sagar said that the years preceding Omar Abdullah’s tenure were marked by policy paralysis, lack of accountability, and administrative disconnection from the ground realities, which severely hampered developmental progress in both urban and rural areas.
“It was only after the people of Jammu and Kashmir elected a representative government under Omar Abdullah that real, accountable, and people-centric development resumed. His administration undertook wide-ranging initiatives in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and power, with a focus on equitable development across J&K,” he said.
Sagar noted that the Omar-led Government prioritized long-pending projects, improved public service delivery mechanisms, and re-established institutional trust through transparency and public outreach.
“The era of elected governance brought the administration back to the people. Omar Abdullah’s government bridged the gap between citizens and institutions, proving that democratic legitimacy is essential for sustained and meaningful development.”
