RAJOURI, Jan 5: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former MLC, Vibodh Gupta convened a meeting of newly appointed conveners of various cells of the Rajouri here today.
Congratulating the newly appointed conveners, Vibodh expressed confidence that they would work with dedication to strengthen the party’s organisational structure and public outreach at the grassroot level.
Interacting with media persons after the meeting, Vibodh elaborated on the vision of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for the all-round development of Jammu and Kashmir, stating that the Union Territory has witnessed unprecedented progress in infrastructure, rural development and connectivity over the past few years.
Referring to recent political developments, Vibodh cited remarks made by Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, wherein he acknowledged and praised the Central Government’s role in allocating generous funds for development in the Union Territory. He said that such statements reflect the fact that even leaders from other political parties have also recognised the commitment and sincerity of the Modi Government towards the development of J&K.
Vibodh said that significant financial support has been extended by the Centre for rebuilding and upgrading public infrastructure, particularly in areas affected by natural calamities. He mentioned that recently approved Special Central Assistance amounting to Rs 1,430 reflects the Centre’s responsiveness towards the challenges faced by the UT and its commitment to restoring essential services and public assets in a time-bound manner.
Vibodh highlighted major road projects under schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and several National Highway expansions, including strategic tunnels and bridges, have significantly improved access to remote areas and boosted economic activity. He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Jammu and Kashmir has moved decisively on the path of peace, stability and development, and the BJP remains committed to ensuring that the benefits of growth reach every section of society.
