JAMMU, Feb 4: An old woman was killed in a road accident in Miran Sahib area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a pedestrian identified as Shanti Devi (80) wife of late Roop Singh of Talli Morh (Miran Sahib), received serious injuries when she was hit by a bus bearing registration number JK02K-7311 at Talli Morh.
The injured woman was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where doctors declared her as brought dead.
In this connection, a case FIR No 19/2016 under Section 279/304-A/RPC was registered at police station Miran Sahib and the accused driver identified as Dharampal son of Anant Ram, a resident of Rattian, Miran Sahib, arrested.
The arrest was made by a police team led by SHO Miran Sahib, Sub Inspector Hilal Azhar under the supervision of SDPO Harjeet Singh, SP Headquarters, RC Kotwal and SSP Jammu, Uttam Chand.
