JAMMU, Oct 14: A review meeting of Old Janipur Civil Society Action Committee was held here today to discuss the pending issues.
Speakers in the meeting demanded the repair and renovation of community hall at Mohalla Shant Nagar, Old Janipur.
They also demanded blacktopping of roads in the area, repair of non-functional street lights, cutting of branches of trees at JDA Park Shant Nagar which have grown to the streets and sanitation of the area.
More speakers raised the demand of repair of bathrooms at the JDA Park, appointment of a watchman and a gardener in the Park and installation of CCTV cameras.
They raised concern over the playing of cricket and other games in the Park at a time when elders walk there in morning and in evening.
The Civil Society members urged the LG administration and CM Omar Abdullah to intervene and solve the issues of the area.
Prominent among those present in the meeting were Vinod Kohli, Sudesh Sharma, Vidya Bhushan, J.S Billowaria, Tara Chand, Nand Kishore, Anil Verma, P.L Sharma, Ravi Kant, Om Prakash, Sonu, Rajinder Kumar, B.R Bangotra, Lovely Sharma, Naveen Sudan, Ashwani Sharma, Anil Bhasin, Sheel Abrol, Sansar Chand, R.S Jamwal, B.M Singh and others.
