JAMMU, June 24: The managing committee of the Home for Aged & Infirm (Old Age Home), Jammu, held its meeting under the chairmanship of its president, I D Soni.
The meeting was attended by vice president H S Manhas, joint secretary Vijay Gupta, managing committee members R C Vaid and Sat Paul Sharma and secretary Dr Dinesh Gupta.
The session commenced with a welcome address by the president and the confirmation of the minutes from the previous meeting held on May 28, 2025. The Income & Expenditure account for May 2025 was presented and approved. The Committee also acknowledged major donations received during the month.
Highlighting its ongoing commitment to welfare, the Committee confirmed the admission of Anil Kumar as a new inmate. Financial assistance was approved for 19 new applicants out of 75, based on the recommendations of the Sub-Committee. The Committee approved the enrolment of four new Life Members.
To enhance internal operations, the formation of a Food Sub-Committee, a Hygiene Sub-Committee, and a Property Maintenance Sub-Committee was approved. Preparations for observing the birth anniversary of R N Prabhakar on July 9, 2025, were finalized.
A proposal from the Savitri Devi Jagiri Lal Charitable Trust to establish a dispensary and physiotherapy unit at the Home was welcomed in principle, with further deliberations scheduled. Additionally, the Committee addressed the ongoing issue of delayed rent payments by shopkeepers and resolved to hold a scheduled meeting for redressal.
With persistent power outages affecting the premises, the Committee discussed acquiring generators to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply. In a brief interaction session, both inmates and staff conveyed satisfaction with the facilities administration and services. The release of surplus stock was approved in line with established practices.
The Committee reaffirmed its commitment to improving services and infrastructure for the welfare of its residents, emphasizing transparency, responsiveness and proactive governance.
