Officers booked for illegal release of salary

SRINAGAR, Mar 26: The Vigilance Organization has booked the then Director and Veterinary Assistant Surgeon of Animal Husbandry for illegal release of salary.
An FIR has been registered following a verification into the allegations of illegal release of salary worth more than five lacs of rupees in favour of accused Dr Suhail Jan Kawooa of Firdous Colony Buchpora, then Veterinary Assistant Surgeon, Animal Husbandry Department Kashmir, by then Director Animal Husbandry Department, Ghulam Rasool Mir.
Dr Suhail had proceeded to United Kingdom for higher studies in University of Nottingham without any permission from competent authority and the accused Ghulam Rasool Mir of   Mominabad Anantnag, then Director Animal Husbandry Department, Kashmir ( now retired) by misuse of his official position, granted post facto sanction of leave, without conducting formal departmental enquiry and ordered for drawal of salary amounting Rs  5,08,967/- illegally in favour of  the former for the period 01.01.2012 to 10.10.2012 for which he was not entitled.
By conferring undue benefit, the accused public servant thereby caused wrongful loss to the state exchequer and corresponding gain to accused Dr Suhail Jan Kawoosa.
Accordingly the case FIR under Section 5 (2) J&K P.C.Act Svt. 2006 was registered in Police Station VOK and investigation of the case has been taken up.
