Odisha Parab to showcase state’s heritage and culture in north  eastern states

BHUBANESHWAR, Jan 5: The three-day Second Odisha Parab, set to be held in Guwahati from January 30, aims to showcase Odisha’s rich heritage, traditions, and culture in the North-Eastern states while encouraging industrialists from outside the state to explore investment opportunities in Odisha.

A high-level coordination meeting of the Tourism Department, chaired by Director Deepankar Mohapatra, emphasized the importance of promoting Odisha’s culture, cuisine, handicrafts, handlooms, and tourism through a well-organized festival.

Mohapatra highlighted the need for inter-departmental coordination to ensure a smooth, attractive, and successful event.

It was decided that 20 stalls from six departments and 10 food stalls would be featured during the festival.

The Handlooms and Textiles Department will lead with six stalls, while the Handicrafts Department will also showcase six stalls. ORMAS and Mission Shakti Department will present three stalls each, and Adisha will feature the famous Koraput coffee.

To enhance visitor engagement, the Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Department will organize cultural programs, and the festival will actively involve members of the Odia community living in the region to make the celebration more memorable.

Senior officials from all concerned departments attended the meeting and outlined their respective stall plans for the event.
