JAMMU, Feb 28: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) has alleged that recently prepared survey report by the districts administrations in the JKUT was most unfair as no door to door survey was conducted to acertain the exact population of OBCs in J&K and just rough figure was forwarded to the Chief Secretary. .
A meeting of the Union was held here under the chairmanship of Mohd Latif Qureshi, and the matter of OBC survey report submitted by the Dedicated Commission was discussed threadbare and concluded that there was no door to door survey and the matter was kept top secret from the OBC people and the Commission neither entertained the complaints nor provided copies of the reports submitted by the officials of Deputy Commissioners. The report so submitted is not a transparent one and is in no way acceptable to Other Backward Classes people of Jammu and Kashmir.
It was appealed to the Chief Minister to direct the concerned authorities for a door to door resurvey, otherwise this survey would be a biggest fraud with the J&K Backward Classes.
Most important matter is that of stream lining the ” education sector “. There must be sufficient financial reserves which should not be less than the ten percent (10%) of the total budget. For about 4500 Govt schools. which have been closed on the pretext of one or the other must be made functional.
Besides, hostels for OBC students which have never given any attention since 2010 needs special funds for their constructions both at Jammu and Kashmir headquarters.
Speakers demanded Govt land for OBC Bhawans, one at Srinagar and other at Jammu to fulfill the needs of lodging OBC students.
