JAMMU, Dec 22: O.P. Sharma, author and publisher of the book ‘Doyens of Dogri Literature’ in English was presented to Dr. Jitendra Singh,Union Minister of State (PMO) at a well attended function here, today held in connection with Dogri Manata Diwas at Abhinav Theatre,.
The book highlights all the Dogri writers who were recipient of Sahitya Akademi Award, New Delhi from 1970 to date and also highlights the cultural heritage sites of Jammu region.
The roll of pioneer Dogri writers like Dinu Bhai Pant, Ram Nath Shastri, Ved Rahi, Jatinder Udhampuri, N.D. Jamwal, Padma Sachdev, Lalit Magotra, Veena Gupta, Champa Sharma and many others have been highlighted in this book with their literary contribution and also throws light on their lives. This pictorial book also provides information about the Dogri language and its literature in a single platform and also acts as a reference book.
The Minister expressed good word for the hard labour and research work done by O P Sharma, who is son of the soil and loves and projects his mother tongue Dogri.
