JAMMU, Feb 4: The J&K unit of All India Registered Nurses Federation (AIRNF) has raised concerns over the non-sanctioning of nursing and dress allowance for nursing personnel in the Union Territory.
The Federation has urged the J&K Government to grant these allowances, similar to those already sanctioned in Ladakh. It has highlighted that the Health and Medical Education Department in Ladakh has issued official orders approving the payment of nursing and dress allowance to nursing personnel in public health institutions, while nursing personnel in J&K continue to be deprived of these benefits despite performing the same duties.
Stating that the non-sanctioning of these allowances affects financial stability and morale of nursing personnel in J&K, the Federation has reminded the Government that the 7th Pay Commission recommends a dress allowance of Rs 1,800 per month for nursing personnel in all Central Government and Union Territory hospitals, and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has already issued guidelines for this payment. However, nursing professionals in J&K are still awaiting implementation.
The AIRNF has emphasized that recognizing the hard work and dedication of nursing personnel is crucial for maintaining professional dignity and motivation. It has urged the Government to address this issue immediately by granting nursing and dress allowance, ensuring fair compensation and equal treatment for nursing staff in J&K. The Federation hopes the Government will take swift action to address these concerns and grant nursing personnel their due rights.
