JAMMU, Jan 31: All India Registered Nurses Federation (AIRNF), J&K highlighted grievances of the nurses.
In a press conference here today, State president of AIRNF and others highlighted the issues like shortage of Nurses, imbalanced nurse-patient ratios, creation of posts as per bed strength in hospitals, timely promotions and career progression, grant of stipend to all Government Nursing Interns and immediate permanent faculty recruitment in all Government Nursing Colleges as per INC norms.
The State president of AIRNF emphasized rectification of pay scales from entry level to top hierarchical posts, implementation of MoHFW-approved nomenclature, grant of all genuine allowances and immediate finalization of Service Recruitment Rules for all GMCs and non-gazetted employees.
The AIRNF leader said that continued neglect of Nurses’ legitimate demands will not be tolerated.
He claimed that despite J&K being a Union Territory governed by Central Pay Commission norms and Union Ministry policies, nurses in J&K continue to face blatant inequality in pay scales, allowances, cadre structure, recruitment, promotions and career progression.
The AIRNF leader condemned the placement of J&K Nurses at Pay Level-4 while SKIMS Nurses are placed at Pay Level-6 and most States and Union Territories have implemented Pay Level-7 for Staff Nurse/Nursing Officer posts strictly as per the 7th CPC.
