NTUF holds protest

JAMMU, Mar 17: A protest demonstration under the banner of J&K National Trade Union Front (NTUF) was held in front of Divisional Commissioner’s office here today.
The protest was held to focus the attention of State Government on the burning issues of Government employees, need base casual labours and left over daily wagers of various departments including Agriculture, Soil Conservation, Rural Development, Wildlife, PHE, JDA, PWD and Floriculture. The protesters raised slogans in support of their demands urging the State Government to consider the genuine demands on priority bases.
Addressing the protest rally veteran trade Union leader Mohammad Gafoor Dar, State president of the Front condemned the delaying policies of previous as well as present Government regarding settlement of the genuine demands which has already been agreed by the State Government. He said it is unfortunate that despite written agreements the Government has miserably failed to fulfill these agreements despite repeated requests.
The demands which were raised during the protest include regularization policy, release of wages of workers all departments engaged after 1994 and immediate regularization orders of leftover DRWs under SRO 64, release of 17% two DA installments without further delay and regularization of temporary teachers of School Education Department.
Others who addressed the protesters included Rajinder Kumar, Vikramjit Singh, Raj Singh, Piran Ditta, Molvi Muneer Ahmed, Barkat Ali, Satpal Singh, Mohd Yusuf and Abdul Hamid.
