JAMMU, Feb 21: The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) today opposed the new selection criteria through JUET in University of Jammu (JU).
Addressing a press conference here today, State general secretary, NSUI, Avijot Singh, alleged that the new selection criteria was totally “anti-students” in which selection through JUET will be based on 75 percent on merit and 25 percent through entrance.
District president NSUI Jammu said that Jammu University management has proposed a new pattern of entrance examination for PG courses in which analytical aptitude and reasoning questions have also been included. “This is much irrelevant for the students of Social Sciences, Languages and even for the students of Bio Sciences,” he said adding that the NSUI wants fair entrance system for admission purely on subject basis.
NSUI leader Vikas Badhoria warned that NSUI will not tolerate injustice with students. He threatened continuous agitation against this so-called entrance test if such norms are not revoked immediately. He appealed the students to join the agitation for the genuine cause.
Others who were present in this press conference, included Vipul Katal, Chandan Sharma, Amanat Ali, Rameshwar and Ashish Dubey.
