JAMMU, Apr 17: Seeking online budgeting by the Jammu University, NSUI today launched a signature campaign on the campus.
A number of students signed and supported the campaign for online budgeting.
Former JU student and incumbent Youth Congress president Shahnawaz Choudhary was specially invited for the occasion. He appreciated NSUI workers and motivated students in the University to participate and support such type of programs. He also assured all possible support from the Youth Congress to NSUI.
The signature campaign evoked tremendous response from the students who were of the opinion that online budgeting will bring transparency in the JU functioning and check wasteful expenditures.
NSUI national coordinator P Sai Shivakanth Rao, who was also present on the occasion, said that online budgeting will empower students.
NSUI State president Uday Chib said that online budgeting would ensure more optimum utilization of financial resources for the overall development of students and the university. This is the thing which will bring ultimate solution to all the problems of the students, he added.
National sectary Navjot Singh, who was also present on the occasion, said that he would take up the issue with HRD minister Pallam Raju seeking a provision for mandatory online budgeting by all the universities.
Other NSUI leaders, who were present on the occasion, included Neeraj Kundan, Ajay Kumar, Vishal Kotwal, Manpreet, Aman Thappa, Kamal Mangotra, Abhishak and Tariq.
